Completion of an informational action on the rights of passengers in coastal transport.

The event to inform passengers in coastal shipping about their rights, organized in the port of Piraeus, for the fourth consecutive year, by the Independent Authority "Consumer Advocate" and the European Consumer Center of Greece, with the assistance of the Port Authority, was successfully completed today. Piraeus.

During the informational activity, executives of the Consumer Ombudsman and the European Consumer Center of Greece informed passengers about their rights vis-à-vis suppliers such as cruise lines, travel agencies, vehicle rental companies, tourist accommodations, hotels, and retail stores as well as the way they can claim them with simple and quick procedures, without any financial burden. At the same time information material was distributed in Greek and English. The correct information and the friendly out-of-court resolution of consumer disputes, contribute decisively to the strengthening of trust between passengers and suppliers and also to the upgrading of the quality of tourism, which is an important pillar for the country's economy and development.

At the same time, at the offices of the Independent Authority "Consumer Advocate" and the European Consumer Center of Greece, consumers were informed by the scientific staff about the most effective protection of their rights when traveling and, of course, about the possibility of out-of-court settlement of domestic consumer disputes or disputes with suppliers within European Union, including Iceland and Norway.
