Permanent shutdown of the European Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) Platform

The European Commission, following an evaluation of the effectiveness of the European Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform across all member states, found that its use by consumers and traders was limited.

In this context, under Regulation (EU) 2024/3238, Regulation (EU) 524/2013 has been repealed, and the operation of the ODR platform has been discontinued.

The platform, which has been operating since 2016 as a single point of service for the out-of-court resolution of disputes arising from online sales or service contracts, has stopped accepting new cases as of March 20, 2025, while as of yesterday, July 20, 2025, the operation of the platform is permanently discontinued and all information, including personal data, have been permanently deleted.
