The event to inform passengers about their rights, organized on 28.6.2019, for the fourth consecutive year, by the Independent Authority "Consumer Advocate" and the European Consumer Center of Greece, with the support of Athens International Airport "El. Venizelos".

During the event, executives from the "Consumer Ombudsman" and the European Consumer Center of Greece informed the passengers about their rights, but also about the way in which they can claim them, providing them with informative material in Greek and English . Travelers and visitors to the International Airport had the opportunity to be informed through a video that was shown, about how they can get help and support in any problems they face with an airline, agency or tourist business and how to resolve them amicably and without cost. Passengers were also informed about the special website application entitled 'Check your rights when traveling by air',

At the same time, during the event, at the offices of the Independent Authority "Consumer Advocate" and the European Consumer Center of Greece, consumers were informed by the scientific staff about the more effective protection of their rights when traveling, as well as about the possibility of out-of-court settlement of domestic consumer disputes disputes or disputes with suppliers within the European Union, including Iceland and Norway.

The culture of out-of-court resolution of consumer disputes, which is cultivated and promoted by the Independent Authority "Consumer Advocate" and the European Consumer Center of Greece, is increasingly adopted by citizens and this is evidenced by the continuous increase in complaints submitted and the appeal in mediation as an effective way of dealing with consumer disputes.
