Event to present the information campaign of the EU Directorate General "Mobility and Transport" on the rights of passengers in air, rail, water and bus transport

From 25 to 28 June, launch events will take place in Brussels, Athens-Piraeus and Sofia, while an information day on air passenger rights will be held in Warsaw.

For the presentation of the new campaign for passengers' rights, a related event was organized at the port of Piraeus on June 27 in order to inform citizens about their rights. The information campaign seeks to involve the travel business sector and national authorities to promote its content and inform passengers of their rights.

This was given by travel agencies, public and private transport operators, travel associations and consumer organizations and unions. The keynote speaker, Mr. Fotis Karamitsos, Deputy Director-General in the European Commission's Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport and Director responsible for logistics, sea and land transport and passenger rights, will announce the launch of the information campaign. The event was also attended by speakers Mr. Athanasios Bousios, Secretary General of the Ministry of Shipping and the Aegean, Mr. Georgios Anomeritis, President-CEO of the Piraeus Port Organization (PPA) and president of the Hellenic Ports Association (ELIME), Mr. Vassilis Korkidis, President of the Piraeus Chamber of Commerce & Industry and President of the National Confederation of Hellenic Commerce, Mr.

In his speech, Mr. Markou presented the rights and obligations of passengers and carriers in passenger maritime transport after the amendment of Law 3709/2008.
